Doodling inspired Sophia Mone to major in Art at Marymount College, Tarrytown, N.Y. She then went on to get an MEd from St. Louis University in 1969. Her art teaching career started in the Barrington, Rhode Island Public Schools and continued in the Winchester Public School System for over 30 years. Sophia studied with master printmakers in Taos, New Mexico and Florence, Italy. She has participated in many workshops throughout the U.S. and continues to take courses to advance her artistic skills. She works with oils and acrylics on paper and canvas creating paintings, monoprints, acrylic pours and solarplates. In 2004, Sophia became a member of River Street Artists, which is a part of the Waltham Mills Complex on Moody Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. She sells her work through River Street Artists and Waltham Mills Artist Association.
